Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that specializes in repositioning the jaws and teeth to improve both function and aesthetics. After someone receives their Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree, they must spend an additional two to three years in school to receive the post-doctoral training necessary to use the title of "Orthodontic Specialist."
